Michael Harvey & Pauline Down
Branwen and Other Tales

A magical evening of music and storytelling. A first half of shorter stories and then an immersion into ‘Branwen’, one of the greatest myths of Celtic mythology, a story of magical transformation, extreme characters, wildness, fury and longing. An ancient tale that still talks to us directly many centuries later. Performed with the singer and composer Pauline Down ‘Branwen’ was given a standing ovation when it premiered at the 2017 Festival at the Edge. “Branwen entrances from the first word until the final spell is cast. In one hour a whole world of marvel, mystery and humour is evoked through story and song." Donald Smith, Director Scottish International Storytelling Festival
