Mindhorn15

The film follows Richard Thorncroft, a washed-up actor who enjoyed fleeting success in the 1980s playing a TV detective named Mindhorn. Now living in poverty in London after throwing his career away trying to make it in Hollywood, Thorncroft has been left to watch on helplessly as his glamorous ex-girlfriend and former co-star Patricia Deville continues to find success as a news reporter and is now happily married to his former stunt double Clive Parnevik. However, despite his desperate situation, Thorncroft is suddenly given another shot at stardom when a crazed fugitive obsessed with his old TV show contacts police and demands to negotiate with Mindhorn in a bid to prove his innocence. The cast also includes Steve Coogan, Nicholas Farrell and Harriet Walter.

Their Finest12

1940, London, the Blitz; with the country’s morale at stake, Catrin, an untried screenwriter, and a makeshift cast and crew, work under fire to make a film to lift the nation’s flagging spirits; and inspire America to join the war. Partnered alongside fellow screenwriter, Buckley, the pair set off to make a film that will warm the hearts of the nation and capture the imagination of the American population.

Volver15

A brilliant synthesis of love story, melodrama, ghost story and thriller that tells of three generations of women who survive death, fire and madness by means of goodness, boundless energy, and lies. Visually sumptuous, full of strong performances, this deals with mothers, daughters, sisters and their intricate relationships in a way that is typical Almodovar.
