Florence Foster Jenkins (PG)

Director Stephen Frears. Biography/Comedy/Drama

Meryl Streep stars in this affectionate biopic of the world’s worst opera singer. Most of the time, famous people become famous for doing things well. Sometimes though, people become famous for doing things BADLY. Florence Foster Jenkins was one such person. Philomena director Stephen Frears brings Jenkins’ moving and hilarious story to the big screen for the first time with Meryl Streep as the woman whom audiences would pay to hear because of her lack of rhythm, pitch, and tone.

Starring Meryl Streep, Hugh Grant, Simon Helberg, Nina Arianda, Rebecca Ferguson

Flicks Advisor (comments from our film promoters)

Our audience enjoyed this film very much. It had some great laughs as well as its sad moments. We would recommend its showing.

Very good film, excellently acted, full of humour and pathos.

Lovely film; humour, pathos; fine acting as usual from Meryl Streep; Hugh Grant ageing gracefully did well in his role - the pianist's role was good as well. All the audience enjoyed the film. A lovely Stephan Frear's film.
