Funding success for contemporary project

Textures, Tones and Traces – Collaborative Contemporary Project

Arts Alive, Craftspace and Birmingham Contemporary Music Group are delighted to announce the success of our bid for a grant of £62,665 from Arts Council England (ACE) to tour an innovative contemporary music and visual arts programme to rural venues in Shropshire and Herefordshire in 2014. The grant was one of ten announced recently as part of ACE’s Strategic Touring Programme.

Join us on Thursday 23rd May in Presteigne when The Sidney Nolan Trust, one of our partners, is hosting a talk between the key project artists: composer Howard Skempton and textile artist Mathew Harris, facilitated by Artistic director of BCMG, Stephen Newbould.

Arts Alive and Flicks in the Sticks are very pleased to announce that they have a new sponsor in The Wrekin Housing Trust at a key time when the Trust are celebrating their new partnership with Choices Housing Association and Shropshire Housing Alliance. Beverly Ashton of the Trust said "Arts Alive and Flicks in the Sticks give communities the chance to host a great a night out in their local community hall, which fits perfectly with our ambition to keep communities thriving. We are very pleased as a partnership to be able to support this vibrant organisation".
